German-American pianist and composer Benjamin Lackner will tour in spring 2027 with his forthcoming third album for ECM Records, the title of which will be announced at a later date.
Joined by Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick, Polish-American bassist Darek Oles, and French drummer Matthieu Chazarenc, Lackner will bring his finely nuanced sonic world to the stage.
Following his acclaimed ECM debut, Last Decade (2022), and its successor, Spindrift (2025), Lackner continues to develop his distinctive musical voice. His compositions combine lyrical melodies with subtle harmonic colours and a chamber-music sensibility. At the heart of the music are the four musicians’ close interplay, dynamic nuances, and a musical dialogue that leaves room for quiet moments as well as emotional intensity.
With his forthcoming new album, Benjamin Lackner continues to explore the poetic possibilities of contemporary jazz. The upcoming concerts offer an opportunity to experience this finely balanced ensemble live.
